Shimanto River Valley Holiday: Japan's best kept secret.
Authentic experiences in harmony with nature and local people.
Although the clear stream Shimanto River is the longest in western Japan, the river is still deeply related to people‘s lives. We propose a new trip with an element of adventure travel in Shimanto, which is filled with countryside landscapes and nature like the original scenery of Japan. First of all, start while viewing the mountains of Shimanto that overlap many times far from the karst plateau, which boasts one of the most spectacular views in Shikoku. At the foot of the plateau, you experience traditional Japanese papermaking, visit the buildings designed by Kengo Kuma in harmony with nature, get into the forest where the river originates, and hike to the headwaters to travel to the upper reaches of the Shimanto River. The latter half of the trip is full four days during which you can experience the nature and countryside of Japan through various travel experiences such as a trip by local train running through the clear stream valley and a river trip through Canadian canoe trekking where you can take pleasure in the depth of nature.
*This product is a planned and arranged trip. Requests and schedules are taken into account for deciding the price.
*Instead of Canadian canoe trekking, kayaking (double blade) is carried out depending on the schedule.
